Valor Martial Arts was founded June 4, 2016 by Nick Intgroen, Kelly Duncheskie, and Tim Bachman. Here at Valor, we pride ourselves on offering the highest level of martial arts and fitness instruction around, taught by elite instructors who are still actively training, growing and competing in their areas of expertise.
Nick Intgroen has been active in martial arts for almost 25 years, has been on the USA national team for 16 years straight and has earned over 25 Gold medals at the World and International Championships in Traditional Shotokan Karate. Sensei Nick has traveled across the USA and much of the world to gather knowledge from many of the highest ranking and most respected instructors in the world including three different 10th degree black belts.
Coach Aurtan Daley is a well versed Professional MMA fighter who is known for explosive power and indomitable drive for excellence. His intense cardio workouts and conditioning coordinates perfectly with his common phrase "No Pain, No Progress". These classes are for aspiring boxers of all skill levels (first day to pro-level), and while you will be worked hard and pushed to your limits, you will reach a higher level than you have before. Ben Lindhout was born in 1976 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He wrestled in middle/high school and was an all-conference athlete, winning several area tournaments. He began training BJJ in 2007 under Carlson Gracie black belt Professor Clint Crabtree of Grand Rapids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2012, Ben relocated to Kalamazoo for his job, and began teaching BJJ at a local school. In 2016, Ben and many of his students helped launch Kalamazoo BJJ.
Kelly Duncheskie began training in Shotokan Karate approximately 5 years ago and currently holds the rank of brown belt (3rd kyu). Kelly earned multiple World Cup titles in Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). She has also earned three AAU National Championship titles and numerous state, regional and local titles in both Kata and Kumite. As a certified Beachbody Live instructor for PiYo, she instructs the PiYo program with Nicole England. Kelly is also a GLHS cheer alumni and a 10 year veteran cheer coach at Gull Lake High School and Middle School (2006-2016).
Nicole England used Beachbody Fitness to help her lose 55 lbs after the birth of her first child and has since dedicated herself and her family to a healthy lifestyle. January 2015 she became a Health & Fitness coach for Beachbody and has recently became a certified Beachbody Live instructor for PiYo. Aside from this, Nicole has coached middle and high school cheerleading for over 7 years at Gull Lake.
